Ross Video Collaborates with NewsMaker Systems Providing the Automation Bridge Between Inception and NewTek Tricaster

Tuesday, April 12th, 2016 [Ottawa, Ontario, Canada] - Today, Ross Video announces their collaboration with NewsMaker Systems, providing the automation bridge between Inception and the NewTek Tricaster. Newsmaker solutions feature a MOS-based interface with an ActiveX plug-in that integrates directly into Inception News, Ross’ browser based newsroom content and editorial system that places social media integration right into the center of news production.

This Active-X interface enables TriCaster production elements including Switcher Effects, Audio, IFB, Graphics, Clips, Virtual Sets and Cameras, to be placed directly into the Inception rundown. There are three products in the NewsMaker lineup. NewsMaker Connect links the production elements scripted in the Inception rundown - directly to the TriCaster. NewsMaker Control adds the ability for the operator to have complete control of the broadcast from a simple UI, button box or a keyboard and mouse. NewsMaker Compose is the automated off-line package creator for repurposing content. Any rundown changes made in the Inception rundown are immediately updated in the TriCaster, available at the fingertips of the operator and ready for air. All NewsMaker solutions can be run with the TriCaster in a fully automated mode, a semi-automated mode or manual assist, all made possible with NewsMaker.

“Newsmaker’s solutions integrate very closely with Ross Video’s powerful newsroom system, Inception. NewsMaker and Ross both have a long history of innovative and cost effective technologies in the broadcast industry,” stated Dean Kolkey, President of NewsMaker Systems. “We are working very closely with the talented Ross Inception team to make affordable newsroom automation solutions available for so many of our customers.”

“We're excited to work with NewsMaker for Inception News integration with NewTek TriCaster. NewsMaker has a long history of working well with multiple newsroom system vendors on certain product specific integrations,” said Shawn Snider, Director of Inception at Ross Video. “As Inception News continues to replace legacy newsroom systems worldwide, our integrations and list of partners is growing exponentially to provide our new and existing customers with flexible options to complete their newsroom workflows.”
